Privacy Policy
Last updated:
TooMany is a photo-review app made by FAAST. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the app and this website. The short version: your photos never leave your device, the app sends nothing to us, and this website only counts visits.
1. What the app does not collect
The TooMany app does not collect, transmit or store outside your device any of the following:
- Your photos, thumbnails, filenames, dates, locations or any other photo metadata
- Which photos you keep, set aside or delete
- Your name, email address, contacts or any account information (there is no account)
- Usage analytics, crash reports or diagnostics (the app contains no analytics or crash-reporting code)
- Advertising identifiers or any tracking data
2. How the app works on your device
TooMany reads your photo library through the photo access your device provides (PhotoKit on iOS, the media store on Android) and only to the extent you allow. Photo groups such as screenshots, photos taken close together and large files are worked out on your device from dates and file sizes. No artificial intelligence looks at your pictures.
The app stores a small amount of data on your device only: the review choices you have made, your counts and badges, and your settings (language, appearance, colour palette, haptics and button preferences). This data is excluded from cloud backups. Deleting the app deletes it.
3. Permissions
The app asks for one permission: access to your photo library. On both iOS and Android you may grant access to all photos or to a selection, and the app works with either. You can change or revoke this permission at any time in your device settings; the app then shows only what you have allowed. No other permission is requested.
4. Deleting photos
TooMany never deletes a photo on its own. Photos you set aside wait in a review list until you confirm the exact selection. Your device then shows its own deletion prompt, and its Recently Deleted album or gallery trash keeps the photos for the period your device controls. If a deletion result is uncertain, the app does not retry it; it asks you to recheck.
5. This website
toomany.app is a static website. It uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page views in aggregate. This measurement does not use cookies, does not store personal identifiers and does not follow you across other sites. If you change the colour palette or appearance on this site, that choice is saved in your browser's local storage only.
When you open toomany.app, the site picks a starting language from your browser's language setting and the country your connection comes from. Our host, Vercel, works out that country from your IP address; we do not store it. If you choose a language on this site, that choice is saved for one year in a cookie named “lang”. It holds only the language code and is used for nothing else. You can delete it in your browser's settings at any time.
If you email us, we receive what you choose to send, including your email address, and we use it only to reply to you.
6. Children
TooMany is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. Because the app collects no personal data, there is nothing for us to hold.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of personal data, to object to processing, to data portability and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (for example under the GDPR or the CCPA). The app holds no personal data about you, so there is nothing on our side to access or delete; anything you want removed is on your device. For email correspondence, write to us and we will delete it. We do not sell personal information.
8. Security
Because your photos and choices stay on your device, they are protected by your device's own security: its passcode or biometric lock, its encryption and the app sandbox that keeps other apps out. Nothing is transmitted, so there is nothing to intercept.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change how the app or this website handles information, we will update this page and the date at the top. Changes that matter to you will also appear in the release notes.
